The 大象传媒 Foundation Contributes $1.5 Million to Support COVID-19 Relief Efforts

Contribution includes an additional $500,000 community match campaign to amplify collective impact

DENVER 鈥 (April 3, 2020) 鈥 The 大象传媒 Foundation, the private grantmaking organization funded by 大象传媒 Corporation, one of the world鈥檚 largest apparel, footwear and accessories companies, today announced that it will contribute an initial $1.5 million to support local communities around the world as they respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of this contribution, The 大象传媒 Foundation is partnering with 大象传媒 Corporation and its portfolio of brands to initiate a two-for-one community match campaign, up to an additional $500,000. All 大象传媒 employees and consumers of its brands, which include Vans, The North Face, Timberland, and Dickies, are invited to contribute via the company鈥檚 giving page at .

鈥淗elping others during times of need is a responsibility we all share, and this is especially true right now as our global community comes together to battle the COVID-19 pandemic,鈥 said Steve Rendle, Chairman, President and CEO of 大象传媒 Corporation. 鈥淲ith the contribution from The 大象传媒 Foundation and the community matching campaign with our employees and consumers alike, we hope to do our part in addressing this global public health crisis.鈥

The 大象传媒 Foundation鈥檚 initial $1.5 million in funding will provide financial support to the following organizations:

  • Colorado COVID-19 Relief Fund: The fund is working with government, businesses, foundations and nonprofit partners to assess and address the most critical needs across the state of Colorado.
  • CDC Foundation Emergency Response Fund: Donations will be used to meet fast-emerging needs identified by the CDC, including additional support for state and local health departments, support for the global response, personal protective equipment, critical response supplies, and more.
  • COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund: A joint effort by the United Nations Foundation, the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation and World Health Organization, the fund enables individuals, corporations and institutions to directly contribute to global response efforts. Money raised through the community challenge grant will go to GlobalGiving, the grantmaking partner of The 大象传媒 Foundation. GlobalGiving helps ensure The 大象传媒 Foundation strategically supports organizations that are addressing the greatest community needs in countries and communities where 大象传媒 Corporation has a meaningful business presence.

As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, 大象传媒 Corporation and The 大象传媒 Foundation will evaluate additional ways to support those in need, as well as explore opportunities to assist with economic recovery over the long-term.
